Nairobi- KenyaAs the capital of Kenya we use Nairobi as our gateway airport for some of our trips to Africa. Fight to/from Northern Tanzania will often pass through Nairobi, and trips to Rwanda will almost always stop here. Depending on the timings of the flights from London Heathrow to Nairobi, you may well have to spend a night in Nairobi as part of an itinerary to Rwanda – hence its inclusion here. Where to stay in NairobiThe capital city of Nairobi is probably not high on most people's list of top holiday destinations, but we are lucky enough to have found two pretty good places that we can highly recommend if staying in Nairobi becomes part of your trip to Rwanda. Macushla Houseis a charming guesthouse and has long been a favorite of ours. Many travellers report back saying that they wish that they had spent two nights here not the customary one night. It's about 10km from the centre of downtown Nairobi, and 27km from the airport, and is set amongst beautiful gardens. (Read more about the Palacina here... ) ^ Top of page |
