The rooms have been built up on stilts
Tented ChaletSet amongst the trees and elevated onto individual wooden platforms with large shaded verandas, the five spacious tented chalets at Little Kwara are simply, but tastefully furnished.
The bedroom area is split into two by a headboard divider. To the front, the twin beds – which can be made into a double – face out towards the deck and are made up with crisp, white linen and colourful throws which add a touch of warmth. There is a small sitting area off to one side with a couple of wooden chairs, and on the other a luggage rack.
There is a good size balcony with some chairs for sitting out, which is accessed by sliding doors in front of the beds – lined only with mosquito gauze to maximize the views from inside the room.
To the back of the room is the en-suite bathroom. The claw-footed bath takes pride of place; and note that although the water appears off-colour, it’s actually quite clean as it is pumped directly from the Delta where its been filtered over and over again as it makes it’s away through the Okavango…no nasty chemicals added!
Two separate doors lead off this space – one to a flushing toilet and the other to a partly-covered outside shower. There are also a couple of hand washbasins, plenty of storage with an open wardrobe on the back of the divider (which is also where you’ll find the small safe); as well as the usual complimentary essentials such as mosquito repellent, bug spray, shampoo, soap and shower gel provided.
