Days 1-3

3 nights at Camp Kalahari (full board & activities) | Kalahari's Salt Pans, Botswana

Camp Kalahari is nestled amongst acacia and palm trees, on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.Arriving in Maun, you'll be transferred by light aircraft, to Camp Kalahari for 3 nights. This simple little camp is set in a sparse forest of fan palms, in grasslands overlooking the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. As big game is often scarce here, Camp Kalahari aims to give an understanding of the area's geology, archaeology and anthropology, as well as an opportunity to observe its wildlife. You'll find nature drives and walks, night drives, and visits to sites of archaeological interest. When the season permits, 4WD quad bikes can be used to explore the surrounding saltpans - without damaging their fragile crust. There is also a group of habituated meerkats nearby and you can have some exceptionally close and relaxed sightings here.

Day 4

If you are at the beginning of your trip, you will be transferred back to Maun to head off (usually by light aircraft) on your chosen Botswana safari. If you are at the end of your trip, you will fly from Maun back to London via Jo'burg. Either way, your transfers to your onward connection are included in the cost of this add-on.
