Set within the private Chobe Enclave on the edge of the Linyanti Marshes, Linyanti Ebony is a small, intimate camp with comfortable but traditional tented accommodation. Although operated independently, it sits side by side with its slightly larger sibling, Linyanti Bush Camp, and the two can be combined to accommodate larger groups. Both camps benefit from the area's mix of wet and dry terrain, which attracts a variety of wildlife.

Linyanti Ebony will suit those looking for a small, traditional tented camp combining comfort with adventure. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service warm, the activities varied and the guiding usually excellent. Note that while there’s wildlife here throughout the year, densities increase considerably between May and October (Botswana’s dry season), when game is attracted to the permanent waters of the Linyanti River. Khwai Lediba

Full Board & ActivitiesMoremi Game Reserve, Botswana

Khwai Lediba

In a beautiful area that’s a magnet for wildlife year round, Khwai Lediba ticks a lot of safari boxes. With views across the Khwai River to the Moremi Game Reserve beyond, the camp is witness to wildlife aplenty that's drawn to the floodplains in front.

As a safari mecca, it’s a win-win location – with drives from camp in both the reserve and the less-restricted riverine area, and a new, more tranquil setting.

Key to the camp’s attractions is a highly professional and knowledgeable team of guides. Join them on 4x4 drives day and night, on safari walks, and sometimes on mokoro excursions to explore the narrow river channels.

For many guests, the opportunity to visit the pre-school in Khwai village – just a short drive away – is an added bonus.

Back in camp, you’ll be in a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere. With just seven semi-traditional walk-in tents, all with outdoor showers, it’s comfortable without being luxurious.

Share the day’s experiences around the firepit, or at the communal dining table – often set up under the stars – or soak in the spectacle from your private veranda. A boma dinner is a big plus, as is the refreshing pool.

"Lucy recommended this camp to us.. We had a truly exceptional three night stay.."

Day 5

4WD & flight from Khwai to Camp Kalahari

Depart the greener landscapes at the periphery of the Okavango Delta and take a 60-minute flight from Khwai to the edge of the vast Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, marvelling at the views as you fly over the desert. Camp Kalahari is a 20-minute drive from the airstrip.

Camp Kalahari

From ostrich eggs to silver cups to oriental rugs, the décor at Camp Kalahari is decidedly eclectic. And that’s in addition to the campaign furniture, old maps and pictures that adorn the main area.

Camp Kalahari

From ostrich eggs to silver cups to oriental rugs, the décor at Camp Kalahari is decidedly eclectic. And that’s in addition to the campaign furniture, old maps and pictures that adorn the main area.

Wander along the sandy pathway and take a look inside one of the big walk-in tents. Here you’ll discover four-poster canopy beds, their tall steel frames set on sisal matting, with dark-wood furniture and more of those oriental rugs.

The feel is cosy, enhanced by hot-water bottles in the winter months – but offset by a cooling fan when the temperatures rise. And while the en-suite bathrooms are effectively open air, they are thoughtfully protected by netting and fly sheets.

Spend your days here exploring the vast expanse of salt pans by quadbike or on horseback, or take to an open-sided 4WD vehicle for game drives, day and night: lucky guests may even spot an aardvark.

Bushman walks are a must for those interested in this ancient culture, while to visit a family of habituated meerkats is to marvel at their antics.

Helicopter Flight - Botswana

Helicopter Flight - Botswana

Various: from 30 minutes to half a day.

Low-flying, agile and offering superb views, helicopters are an ideal way to move around the Okavango Delta. You can use them instead of fixed-wing inter-lodge transfers or as an addition to other wildlife watching activities, and of course, helicopters can hover to allow that perfect pic, whereas fixed-wings can’t.
