This varied Botswana safari explores different areas of the Okavango Delta, the drier private concessions further north, in Botswana's Linyanti region as well as a camp in the Central Kalahari. The bird-watching is excellent in many of these areas, particularly at Xigera but the trip really focuses more on big game in these wildlife-rich concessions.
You will stay a total of 20 nights at seven great safari camps: Tau Pan, Chitabe Lediba, Xigera, Duba Plains, Little Vumbura, Lagoon Camp and Selinda.
This Botswana safari can also easily be combined with a visit to Livingstone in Zambia or Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe to see the Victoria Falls. See our trips to Livingstone or trips to Victoria Falls for examples of the add-on options, and the costs.
The trip is an individual trip, and can be tailor-made and adapted to suit you.
After your morning activity, you are transferred by light aircraft to the private Chitabe concession in the Okavango Delta. Chitabe Lediba is an impressive dry camp where the focus is on day and night 4WD game drives. You will be based here for 3 nights.
After your morning activity at Chitabe Lediba, you are driven to the airstrip for a light-aircraft flight to Xigera camp in the Moremi Game Reserve. This will be your base for the next 2 nights. This is a wet camp with the focus predominantly on mokoro and motorboat activities, which makes the most of seeing the spectacular birdlife that is on offer.
From Xigera you will fly by light-aircraft north to a private concession in the Okavango Delta. You will stay 3 nights at your next camp Duba Plains. This is a great camp well known for it’s buffalo and lion interaction and has extensive floodplain and savannah areas, which alongside buffalo attract herds of elephant and many antelope species.
From Duba Plains a very short light-aircraft flight takes you to a neighboring private concession. Little Vumbura will be your base for the next 3 nights where a mixture of water and land activities are on offer in a concession that is exceptionally varied in wildlife.
From Little Vumbura you will head via light-aircraft to the Kwando-Linyanti region in Botswana’s far north for a 3 night stay at Lagoon Camp. This large concession attracts lots of big game, particularly during the dry season. It is notable for it fairly consistent sightings of wild dog and cheetah.
Your final camp on this trip will be at Selinda Camp also in the Kwando-Linyanti region. Situated on the banks of the Selinda Spillway this lovely camp is set in a very picturesque, open and largely dry landscape with a variety of wildlife which you can often spot from a long way off.
After an hour's light aircraft flight back to Maun, you'll connect with your own onward arrangements.
