Motswiri Walking Add-on: In full
This 4 night stay on the banks of the Selinda Spillway is, as the name suggests, focused very much on walking. You’ll spend the first night at Motswiri Lodge before heading out on foot with your professional guide for a couple of nights at Motswiri’s fly camp - Kala Bushcamp. You’ll explore this vast concession on foot with an occasional boat trip and 4WD game drive too. The fourth and final night is then spent back at camp.
See our trips to Botswana for examples of suitable safari itineraries in Botswana to combine with this add-on.
Days 1-4
4 nights at Motswiri Camp (full board & activities) | Kwando-Linyanti area, Botswana
Arriving in Maun, you’ll fly to Motswiri’s airstrip (adjacent to camp) and be met by your guide who will transfer you straight to camp. After settling in you may spend the afternoon activity exploring the Selinda Spillway by boat or mokoro (water levels permitting) or maybe take a short walk or game drive. The next day you’ll head out on foot and begin the walk to Kala Bushcamp. Depending on what you see along the way you should arrive at camp in time for lunch. You’ll then spend the next two nights in comfortable Meru style, walk-in tents with en-suite chemical long-drop toilets and comfortable beds. Activities concentrate on exploring the surrounding area on foot and by boat and mokoro. Although there is of course large game around the idea of getting out on foot is really to appreciate the wilderness without the sound of an engine and to gain a better appreciation of the smaller insects, plants, birds and mammals of the region. The length and pace of the walks vary depending on what is seen. Day 5
If this is the end of your trip, then you will fly from Maun back to London via Jo’burg. If you are just beginning, then you will be flown onto the next stage of your chosen Botswana safari. Either way, your transfers to your onward connection are included in the cost of this add-on.See Prices & details for the precise dates/prices for this trip - and all the fine print.
