Selinda Canoe Trail Add-on: In full
This 3 night adventure takes place on the Selinda Spillway and is a gentle canoe safari along one of the most picturesque waterways in Botswana. Relax as you glide slowly past hippo, elephant and crocodile all accompanied by an expert guide. As well as the big things a canoe trail really allows participants to get closer to and appreciate the unique insect, amphibian, reptile and bird life of the Okavango Delta. This trip would be an excellent add-on to a walking safari as well as very complimentary indeed to a safari focusing on the dryer areas of the Okavango. You’ll be staying at very comfortable but mobile camps which are broken down every morning and paddled on ahead, all to be set-up by the time you arrive at camp after a days’ canoeing.
See our trips to Botswana for examples of suitable safari itineraries in Botswana to combine with this add-on.
Days 1-3
3 nights at Selinda Canoe Trail (full board & activities) | Kwando-Linyanti area, Botswana
Arriving in Maun, you’ll fly to Selinda and then drive to the start point of your canoe trail. After introductions to your guide and the rest of your group (the trail takes a maximum of eight guests) you’ll get underway for a late morning / early afternoon start. The pace is gentle and relaxed and the emphasis is on taking in your surroundings rather than anything too high-tempo. During the 3 nights you’ll spend on the Selinda Canoe Trail you’ll camp on the banks of the spillway. This is very comfortable for a mobile camp, and consists of spacious, bow-tents. Activities centre on canoeing but there is no set timetable for each day and you’ll pull up on shore whenever the guide feels there is scope for an impromptu walk.
Day 4
If this is the end of your time at Selinda, then you will fly back to Maun. From Maun you’ll fly back to London via Jo’burg. If you are just beginning, then you will be flown onto the next stage of your chosen Botswana safari. Either way, your transfers to your onward connection are included in the cost of this add-on. Many guests decide to spend an evening or two at Selinda Camp.See Prices & details for the precise dates/prices for this trip - and all the fine print.
