Tau Pan Add-on: In full

This 3 night stay in a remote part of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve is designed to be easily combined with any safari which passes through Maun – and includes any trip visiting Botswana's Okavango Delta. You stay deep within the reserve at Tau Pan Camp, which is probably the game reserve's most substantial camp; it stands on one of the Kalahari's classic dune ridges, overlooking a small waterhole and the expansive Tau Pan.

Days 1-3

3 nights at Tau Pan Camp (full board & activities) | Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Botswana

Take a 75-minute flight from Maun on a small aircraft into the heart of the Botswana's remote Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Here you'll spend 3 nights in your comfortable thatched chalet at Tau Pan Camp. It is raised on a wooden deck and derives power completely from the sun; minimising the camp's environmental impact is important. Activities focus on game drives, including trip day trips to the famous Deception Valley. Star-gazing, bush brunches and nature walks with Bushman trackers are also options.

Day 4

Leaving the camp after three great nights, you've a flight north over the vast Kalahari to Maun, where you'll usually be able to transfer onto onward connections. If you are at the end of your trip, you will fly from Maun back to London via Jo'burg. If just beginning, you will be transferred back to Maun to head off (usually by light aircraft) on your chosen Botswana safari. Either way, your transfers to your onward connection are included in the cost of this add-on.
