We arrange the flights to Tanzania for most of our travellers, and have excellent flights rates. However, if you would prefer to arrange your own flights, or book with air-miles or the like, then feel free to do so. If you organise the flights, we are happy to just make your ground arrangements.

Starting from London

The two easiest and most direct air routes between London and Tanzania are:

a) London Heathrow to/from Dar es Salaam (usually direct, with British Airways); this route suits safaris in Southern Tanzania (Selous and Ruaha), and also trips to the islands of Pemba, Mafia and Zanzibar.

b) London Heathrow to/from Arusha (always via Nairobi, with either British Airways or Kenya Airways, plus a choice of carriers between Nairobi and Arusha); this route suite safaris to the parks in the north, including Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti.

We can easily combine these routes to create an open-jaw trip. For example, if you want to arrive in Arusha, for a safari in the north, and then depart from Dar es Salaam after a week on the islands.

We always, of course, organise all the internal flights within Tanzania as part of our trips.

Starting from the USA

Coming from the USA, or anywhere outside of the UK, your have choices to make about your flights. In broad terms, your two options for the flight arrangements are:

1)
You arrange your return flights USA -> London and London -> USA for yourself.
Expert Africa arranges the London -> Tanzania and Tanzania -> London flights for you.

This makes a lot of sense as we have great rates on the flights to Tanzania – and allows us to create a seamless trip for you. However, you need to make sure that you have enough turn-around time between planes in London.

2)
You arrange your own flights USA -> Tanzania and Tanzania -> USA, either via London or on any other route, and advise us of the flight times and carriers.
Expert Africa arranges your arrangements in Tanzania for you, including any smaller flights within Tanzania, and any arrangements in Livingstone.

If you choose to organise your own intercontinental flights, then we prefer you to also book any connecting flights at the same time, with the same people who sell you your intercontinental flight tickets. Eg: links between from Nairobi and Arusha.
