Banoka Bush Camp

 - Okavango Delta Safari Reserves, Botswana

Botswana's newest safari camp, Banoka Bush Camp, is due to open in August 2010. The site for Banoka is situated on the banks of the Khwai River, which forms a natural border between the Khwai wildlife reserve to the north and Moremi Game Reserve to the south.

The animals pass freely between the areas, unaware of the boundary. The camp is expected to have 10 spacious walk-in tents with en-suite facilities and a central lounge/dining tent.

Khwai reserve is one of the most diverse regions of northern Botswana and the Okavango Delta in terms of habitat. Riverine woodland and open floodplains flank the river and attract herds of plains game along with the predators that hunt them.

Away from the river and Delta lagoons, the fauna changes to mopane woodland dotted with open grasslands which, together with the abundance of water, attracts herds of elephant and buffalo.

Activities offered from Banoka Bush Camp will include day and night safari drives, morning walking safaris, seasonal mokoro (dug-out canoe) excursions and visits to Khwai village on request.
