Superior rooms

Bishops' Court, Cape Town, The Cape

All the rooms are beautifully decorated with soft neutral tones of beige or blue, giving a relaxing and restful feel.

When we stayed here last, our room (Room 5), situated on the ground floor, had large double doors leading out onto a small, pretty flower-filled courtyard with a fountain.

The room was large and spacious, with wooden louvred New-England-style shutters on the windows and patio doors, as well as thick cotton curtains. There was a large double/twin bed with a padded foot stool at the end of the bed.

On one side of the room was a wooden writing desk and chair, on the other side was a sofa and coffee table - making this into a cosy spot for watching the small, wall-mounted television.

The large en-suite bathroom has tiled walls and floor with a very spacious glass-screened shower. There is a single wash basin and toilet and a heated towel rail covered with large white fluffy towels.

It was a lovely big room – which felt very comfortable and luxurious. We didn't use the wall-mounted air-conditioning, although this is useful when it's hot.
