About a kilometre from the lodge, the old Chelinda Camp is a much more basic place to stay. It has just 6 twin bedded rooms, a restaurant, bar and shop - all looking out over a large trout dam.
Activities from both include fly-fishing excursions, 4WD trips, and mountain biking. However, with no dangerous wildlife to worry about, you'll get the best from Nyika on foot or horse-back.
Being at such a high altitude, Nyika is malaria-free, but this does also mean that the air temperature can be cold so it's best to bring warm clothing with you all year round. Fortunately, the camp has log fires and you will often return to one in the evening.
