To the west of the island, Chief's Camp has twelve luxurious tents on slightly elevated decking looking out on to flood plains. Here, during the annual flood, Chief's offers mokoro trips starting in front of the lodge, in addition to its usual game drives. Spa treatments are on offer (during the high season) next to the large swimming pool and all the tents have proper wooden doors, solid furniture, and en-suite bathrooms.
Great comfort and super game viewing.
The hotel aspects of this camp were higher that either of the Wilderness camps. Food was more sophisticated. However, I felt the guiding was not as good.
