Tented ChaletChitabe Lediba, Okavango Delta Safari Reserves, Botswana A wooden walkway, lit cleverly by lights set into the underside of the handrails, leads to the rooms, which are secluded and shaded by large trees. The outside deck has two supremely comfortable chairs with footstools and a round table. Through the wooden doors is the main room – very comfortably furnished with wrought iron side-facing beds and mosquito nets. Polished dark wooden floors and Moroccan style rugs add to the warm feel of the rooms. Each bed has a bedside table with magazines and bottled water, and is made up with sheets, blankets and a slim duvet. A fan in the centre of the room is effective in keeping the mosquitoes away. The room is divided with a wicker divider – on one side are two wardrobes, one with shelves and one with hanging space, and a safe in the middle, underneath a large mirror. The rooms have two bathrooms at Chitabe Lediba - the first is an outside shower, very open, surrounded by wood poles to give privacy, and with panoramic views over the plains. Inside the room, on the other side of the wicker divider is the bathroom, with a beautiful wrought iron washstand, a flush loo in the centre and a cubicled shower which gives a powerful blast of water. A wide selection of toiletries, including handmade soaps, is provided for guests to use, along with big fluffy towels and a dressing gown. If anything, the bathrooms are not very private, as there are no doors to speak of! Click here to return to the main page on Chitabe Lediba ^ Top of page |
