23 Feb 2011 update - We are sorry to report that The Elegant Bed & Breakfast will close on the 28th February 2011 and remain so for the foreseeable future. The property has been sold and it is unclear whether or not the new owner plans to open a guesthouse here at any point in the future. All bookings that were held by The Elegant Bed & Breakfast have been transferred to The Elegant Guesthouse which continues to operate as a friendly and comfortable guesthouse.
The Elegant Bed & Breakfast is situated in the suburb of Klein Windhoek, just a five minutes' drive from the city's central business district. It's a simple, though friendly and comfortable lodge and an ideal base for an over-night stay in Windhoek.
The Elegant Bed & Breakfast has five double bedrooms, decorated in a contemporary style with neutral colours and fabrics. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers, air-conditioning and a safe for personal belongings. There's a five channel TV in every room, as well as a telephone and free wireless internet access.
Central facilities include a lounge with TV, DVD and VCR player, and a small collection of books. In the morning, a healthy breakfast buffet is served in the dining room, and the guesthouse has an open-plan kitchen and a barbeque area for self-catering purposes. A veranda leads into the lovely garden, where you will find a small swimming pool and several sun loungers. For self-drive guests, secure parking is possible on the lodge's property.
The Elegant Bed & Breakfast is a good choice for a pleasant stay in Windhoek, and while you are here, you can easily explore some of Windhoek's highlights.

Even though the restaurant we selected to eat at was only 300m from the Elegant, the staff advised we drive there. The key fob on the room key operated the gate.
