Safari TentKing's Pool, Kwando-Linyanti area, Botswana Each safari tent is connected to the main area by a raised up wooden walkway and you enter by way of an ornate wooden door. Inside the rooms are enormous with high ceilings and each side of the tent has a large deck – on one side with a plunge pool and sala (shaded with a double mattress and cushions), and on the other side with an outside shower. The beds are large, double four-poster style and are made up with crisp cotton bed-linen, fluffy pillows and duvets. Each tent has a sofa and coffee table and comfortable armchairs, as well as a writing desk, dressing table and huge wardrobe. (Beds can be made up as twin, but due to the design of the headboard the beds cannot be pulled apart.) The loo is in a separate side-room on one side of the tent and the main bathroom is on the other. The bathroom is luxurious with a tiled floor, double sinks and double showers with large “rain-shower” effect showerhead. A door leads out to one of the outside decks and an outside shower with a view of the river. Hot and cold water is on tap, and various toiletries are provided including soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Dressing gowns and slippers are also provided. Please note that due to the camp's environmental policy, rooms do not have hairdryers. King's Pool's safari tents are huge and very high-quality and luxurious – and so a little overwhelming at first. However, we settled in very quickly indeed, and would have happily spent a few days without leaving were it not for the safari activities which, after all, was why we came here.
