Kirurumu Tented Lodge has two suites which work really well for a family as well as couples wanting much more space. They have been built quite recently and are cool, spacious and quite smart.

Split between two levels, each suite at Kirurumu has enough room for at least four people to sleep and is built using a combination of stone and cream canvas tent. You enter the rooms through a wooden door which then leads through an outdoor vestibule area and into the suite.

On the top floor of each of the suites at Kirurumu is the master bedroom, which has canvas walls and cream tiled floors. There is no air-con here but the cream tiles and the rooms spot right on the edge of the rift valley escarpment means that it is breezy and cool.

From the master bedroom, walk down a set of stairs into a further bedroom and lounge area. It is down here that you will also find the access to the spacious veranda. The views from here are spectacular, and the comfortable wooden furniture and shaded parasol makes it a great spot to sit and relax.

It is worth noting that the stairs in one of the suites at Kirurumu are quite steep and tight. If you feel that this might be a problem, but are keen to stay in a suite, please let us know at the time of booking and we can request the suite with wider stairs.

The suites have been built quite recently and so feel very smart and clean. Crisp cream linen, stylish bean bags on the floors and intricate rock art on the walls make these rooms feel minimalist and stylish. In many ways, these suites contrast with much of the rest of Kirurumu Tented Lodge. Although they do share the lodge's excellent views, which remain the best thing about staying here!

The en suite bathrooms at Kirurumu Tented Lodge sit behind a moulded stone wall and a curtain covering the entrance. The bathrooms are spacious and the white walls and cream tiles (yes - more crisp minimalism!).

Each bathroom has a hot-and-cold shower, a sink and a flush toilet; some complementary toiletries are also provided.

We noticed when we where there that the tiles could get very slippery when wet. It is worth taking care when getting in and out of the shower when the floor is wet.
