Bedroom

Lake Manyara Serena, Ngorongoro Crater & Conservation Area, Tanzania

The bedrooms at the Lake Manyara Serena Lodge have thatch roofs, thick, white, stone walls and dense creepers growing on and around them. The rooms are all close together; some in double-storey units. To get the best view of Lake Manyara, we recommend a first floor room.

Inside, the walls are white and the floors a rust-coloured stone. In the middle of the room the bed has a red bedspread, and is framed by a mosquito net. A rug lies in front of a dark wood bedside table and there are a couple of bedside lights. All of the bedrooms have a telephone, a wooden cupboard and mosquito spray. There is a vibrant wall hanging behind the bed and a chair in front of a small window.

All of the rooms on the first floor have a small veranda. From here guests get quite a good view over the escarpment to Lake Manyara.

The bedrooms are en-suite and the bathrooms are just as simple as the bedrooms. A kidney-shaped mirror hangs over the sink. This has been set in a wooden surround and has a couple of complimentary toiletries next to it. The rooms all have a white-tiled shower and a flush toilet; towels and a hair-dryer are provided.

These bedrooms are comfortable but impersonal; they are practical bases for a night if you want to visit the National Park.
