Lebala's eight enormous tented chalets stand on the edge of the Linyanti Marshes, with views over a narrow lily-filled waterway and grassy plains beyond.

Each chalet is raised up on a wooden deck, with a sundeck and large bedroom overlooking the plains. You enter through sliding meshed doors where you will find your large bedroom furnished with comfortable beds, bedside tables, solar powered reading lamps, desk, chairs and coffee table.

In your bedside cabinets, you will find insect repellent, insect spray and also mosquito coils. Floor to ceiling meshed windows, doors and walls allow views from your bed over the surrounding plains but may also allow those walking past to look in! Privacy can be maintained by drawing the white curtains that hang around almost the whole circumference of these rooms. Each chalet also has its own balcony where there a couple of deckchairs, should you wish to sit out.

To the back of your chalet you will find your en-suite bathroom. This is also very spacious and it has a lovely claw-footed bath with shower attachment, twin washbasins sunk into a polished wooden sideboard, cupboards and hanging space and a large mirror. There is a separate cubicle with flushing loo.

Through another set of sliding doors, you will find the outside double shower. You are supplied with the full complement of toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, bath salts, hand and body lotion, soap and washing powder! Hot water runs on demand off a gas geyser.

When we visited in June this year the rooms felt airy and cool, helped no doubt by the ceililng fan.
