Tented ChaletMchenja Bushcamp, South Luangwa National Park, Zambia This is a small camp with only five tented chalets. These are large and spacious and built in a hexagonal shape, designed to be light and airy with a high circus-tent style domed ceiling. Floor to ceiling canvas windows, with billowing cotton curtains, let the breeze through on hot days. The sold wood beds are large and comfortable with crisp white linen and covered with African print blankets and cushions. At the foot of each bed is a large rattan footstool and a comfortable sofa and armchair stand in the corner. Solar-powered lamps stand on each bedside table with a torch and flask of drinking water and glasses. The floor of the tent and outside bathroom are made of polished cement covered with colourful mats. Each tent has a large en-suite, open-air bathroom with a (hot & cold) shower, a flush toilet and hand-basin in the corner, and is surrounded by reed walls and shaded by ebony trees. Meanwhile within the main tent is a claw-foot bath with views over the river, hidden from the rest of the tent by a screen. Fluffy safari green towels and flannels are provided as well as large bottles of soap, shampoo and moisturizer. Outside is a small deck with two canvas deck chairs and a small table for you to relax and enjoy the views of the Luangwa River.
