The Moriah Hill Resort is a new, 4-star hotel that opened in August 2007 in Kibuye. Situated on the shore of Lake Kivu it has a lovely setting with views across the lake to the many small islands. None of the Expert Africa team have visited this new hotel personally yet, however here is what we know about it so far.
Moriah Hill Resort has 18 lovely en-suite rooms in total – (16 rooms and 2 apartment/suites). We understand that here is a good restaurant here, a bar and a man-made beach from where you can take scenic boat trips along the lake shore, to Gisenyi and also to Napoleon's Island.
Base yourselves here to spend some time relaxing in a beautiful setting over-looking Lake Kivu or to visit the interesting small town of Kibuyi.
Moriah resort great location terrible hotel
We had another unexpected long journey on a very bumpy, muddy and bad road. The 90 kilometers took nearly 6 hours with only stops to stretch and take pictures. my wife was exhausted after it.
