On the western side of the riverfront, Muchenje Safari Lodge sits high on the escarpment overlooking the Chobe. It's outside the national park, in the Chobe Forest Reserve, 50km west of Kasane - and hence away from the busiest section of the park. Muchenje has ten comfortable chalets, each with a high thatched roof and en-suite showers and toilets. Activities here include half- and full-day 4WD safaris in the park; guided walks and night drives in the forest reserve; boat cruises on the Chobe and visits to the nearby Muchenje village.
