Not far from Etosha National Park's eastern gate, the Mushara Outpost has eight spacious rooms built up on raised platforms. None of our team has visited this new lodge personally, but here is what we know about it.
Built using a combination of canvas, wood and glass each of the rooms combine a safari style with a high level of comfort. Neutral décor creates an open airy feeling whilst large glass windows and doors make the most of views over the surrounding bush. An open-plan en suite includes a shower with glass walls from floor to ceiling, bringing the outdoors inside!
Each room has a mini bar, air conditioning, small safe, coffee station, telephone, hair dryer and mosquito net. There is also a fairly spacious veranda with sitting space in which to relax.
Mushara Outpost's main area has been built in the style of an old farm house complete with a corrugated iron roof and large wrap-around veranda. But that's where the farmhouse feel ends as stylish furniture, large plant pots, grand light fittings and glass display cases come together to create a very modern space, verging on the luxurious.
Activities focus on game drives into Etosha National Park, either on a guided 4WD safari drive or in your own vehicle on a self-drive safari. The lodge is situated on it's own 2,500 ha private reserve where variety of wildlife and birdlife can be found. This therefore makes Mushara Outpost a great spot to relax, whiling away hours on the veranda or in the pool, as well as a great base from which to explore the park.
Mushara Lodge review
Very luxury and stylish lodge; less rustic than many other lodges - the communal area looks like something straight out of an interior design magazine.
