TentNxabega Safari Camp, Okavango Delta Safari Reserves, Botswana Each tent has a front porch where two director's chairs and a table have been set-up overlooking the permanent floodplain. A wooden door has been built into the front of the tent to replace the usual zip. The tent's interior is large and spacious with a wall-to-wall sisal mat acting as a carpet. The king-size bed is covered with white linen, down duvets and pillows; it makes an enticing centrepiece. A chest of drawers, writing table with mirror, luggage rack and bedside tables are all made out of dark, solid wood. A bird and animal checklist and torch are available for guests in each tent, as is an emergency 'hooter'. Each tent has plug points for charging batteries; a few basic adaptors are kept in the wardrobe, along with a hairdryer. The en-suite bathroom is separated from the main bedroom by the tent flaps which can be zipped closed for privacy. The bathroom is spacious with wooden floors, canvas walls and a gauze ceiling below the top canvas roof. The open shower takes up the centre of the room with specially adapted floor boards beneath for the water to run out. (This has changed in recent years, between our inspection visits, and the shower is now a lovely feature of the bathroom, rather than an aesthetic let-down.) A flush toilet, sink with mirror, towel stand and large wardrobe make up the rest of the furniture. The wardrobe contains a laundry bag, metal safe with key, umbrella, a cotton robe, insect repellent and bug spray. An extra treat are the luxurious shampoos, conditioners, lotions, soaps, shower gels and body scrubs available in each room.
