Although you can make a stay here your only stop in the Lower Zambezi, Old Mondoro combines very well with its sister-camps, Chiawa and Sausage Tree. Beside the river, acacias shade the four simple bush chalets, which each have beds, mosquito nets and an en-suite open-air bathroom with a bucket shower and flush toilet. A pod of hippos lives in front of camp, and elephants frequently wander through.
Old Mondoro is a true bushcamp: it's lit by oil lamps at night and set in a superb walking area, ideal for those who really want to immerse themselves in the wilderness.
