The Onguma Game Reserve borders Fischer's Pan, on the eastern side of Etosha National Park. Here Onguma Bush Campis a simple lodge that makes a good base from which to explore Etosha National Park.
Onguma Bush Camp's eight fairly rustic but comfortable rooms are made up of six standard rooms, two family rooms and one suite. The rooms are en-suite, and some have a bath instead of a shower. Each room is equipped with a tea and coffee station, and there's a small porch out the front with a couple of chairs and views over the gardens. All rooms are air-conditioned but do not have mosquito nets. Some rooms are slightly larger than the others and are located in thatched rondavels.
On entering the main area of Onguma Bush Camp, you see the reception area and small curio shop. Along a short pathway, shaded by a beautiful 'flamboyant tree', you will find the dining area and bar. Across a lawn is the sparkling swimming pool with shaded sunloungers and a waterhole viewing platform.
Activities available from Onguma Bush Camp include morning drives, sundowner drives and night drives on the Onguma reserve, which take place after dinner. Alternatively, you can easily drive yourself into Etosha National Park, as the entrance to the Onguma Reserve is just metres from the entrance to Etosha National Park.
In conclusion… This fairly rustic lodge has a good location and will suit families and those on a tighter budget who want a lodge with easy access to Etosha National Park.
