Standard roomPlantation Lodge, Ngorongoro Crater & Conservation Area, Tanzania The standard rooms at Plantation Lodge are all slightly different. Some of them are detached 'cottages' and some are semi-detached in the old stable block. All of the rooms are spacious and have been decorated to high standards. Straw mats cover dark, slate floors. There is a double bed in the middle of the room and a couple of wooden bedside tables next to it. The beds are covered in colourful African bedspreads and surrounded by a mosquito net. There is also a cupboard and a couple of chairs. Some of the bedrooms have the added advantage of a veranda. There are a couple of sun loungers, chairs and a small table on which to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the lodge and its grounds. All of the bedrooms at Plantation Lodge have en-suite bathrooms. As with the bedrooms, they are also decorated simply but elegantly and fittings are of a high standard. There is a bath and a simple, separate shower. A large wooden mirror hangs above a single sink unit that has been sunk into a wooden surround. The white tiled walls keep the bathrooms bright and the slate floors keep them cool. White towels hang from various rails and a hair dryer sits next to the sink. The power points in the bedrooms and bathrooms are two pin. A large pottery vase holds the only splash of colour in the bathrooms, which is a bloom of flowers freshly picked from the grounds.
