The River Club has a colonial feel and ten comfortable, split-level chalets built on the riverbank. Each has an open side, facing the river. The main building has a lounge, dining room and small library with a variety of books and parlour games.
Outside, the swimming pool has beautiful views across the river, the lawn is marked out for croquet, and there's a short nature trail around the lodge's grounds.
Owner: The property's owner, Peter Jones, still runs the river club, and is usually there - often spending time with guests. He's a raconteur of note, and a mine of information on the history of the local area.
