Palmgrove Bush Camping with Robin Pope safaris is new for 2006 – and a variation on the theme of their established fly-camping trips in the Nsefu Sector.
For your Palmgrove Bush Camp, you'll head to a dry river bed, the Mushilashi River, near which, somewhat unexpectedly, there's a huge palm grove in the middle of the bush. The simple camp is under evergreen trees here, on an island in middle of the river bed, surrounded by white sand. It's a magical site and RPS has designed set trips around the full moon – so you can dance with your moon shadow on the white sand!
When they say 'This is a wilderness experience', they mean it! The game, if any, will be sparse and very shy, and the walking can be rigorous (depending on group). The bird-watching is always rewarding though, and there is usually a colony of vultures in the palm grove!
For those who love to be in wild places, and who are not looking for a game experience everyday of their stay in the Luangwa, Palmgrove Bush Camping could be just the trip.
Palmgrove Bush Camping operates June-Oct, starting in June 2007, and has been integrated into some 'set trips' – each with a minimum of 2 guests, and a maximum of 4. Call us for the latest details.
Drinks included: Yes - soft drinks, house wine and local spirits are included in the rates. Note that fine wines, champagne and imported spirits and liqueurs, are charged as extras.
