The rooms at Rufiji are permanent tents under thatch, with painted stone flooring throughout. They are simple in style and though they do not boast much in the way of luxury, they are spotlessly clean and have comfortable beds with cotton sheets, hanging space for your clothes and a writing desk. There are no fans or air conditioning units in the rooms, however they do have gauze covered windows which let through a light breeze.

Each tent has a stone deck in front, with a table and two chairs which is a pleasant place to relax between safari activities.

Half of the rooms are situated to the right of the main areas and have wonderful views across the Rufiji River. Whereas the other half are set in a wonderful shaded area to the left – making them nice and cool during the day.

The ensuite bathrooms are situated through a door at the back of the rooms. Like the rooms they are simple yet large and clean, with a shower, single sink and flush toilet. The camp has running water which is filtered and so safe to drink, though currently the solar heating for the water is not working so there is no hot water for the showers – this is quite normal. Soap is also provided.
