Standard TentShinde Camp, Okavango Delta Safari Reserves, Botswana The rooms are tented and very spacious with two low beds with crisp linen, soft red throws and lots of cushions on the beds. In the corner of our room was an orange fabric armchair with a leopard-skin print cushion and a table adjacent, upon which was information about the camp and the surrounding area, mineral water and glasses, biscuits in a sealed jar and wildlife magazines. The beds were separated by a bedside table with built-in lamps for reading. A fan above the beds kept the air circulating and any mosquitoes away. The rooms have wide mosquito netting windows over which the canvas covers can be put up during the night for privacy and safety, if needed. Very comfortable and airy. The bathroom is behind a reed screen which also forms the bedstead for the twin beds in the rooms. A separate flush loo, open at the front to give a view but perhaps rather interesting during night-time excursions for those of a more nervous disposition, is accessed through a door from the bathroom. Facing the back is a counter with double basins, with mirrors and a full selection of toiletries (shampoo, soap, shower gel, shower cap, sewing kit) between the basins, with white towels on the towel rail. The shower is a cubicle with a plastic curtain which has a habit of blowing inwards and a non-slip mat on the floor. A reddish rug on the bathroom floor adds warmth.
