Ten kilometres south of Chintheche is Makuzi Beach, a small owner-run lodge beside the water's edge. Makuzi has eight comfortable en-suite stone chalets overlooking the beach, with the main bar and dining area built on the rocks above the shoreline. As well as the usual lake activities, it is also possible to visit the nearby Bandawe Mission and orphanage.
