Mbuna Cichlid Safari
This Malawi safari holiday visits a couple of the country’s most remote highlights. It’s first stop is the rolling hills and mountain outcrops of the Nyika Plateau for a three-night stay, before continuing on to the idyllic western shore of Lake Malawi.
The lodges are both excellent, run by Wilderness Safaris, an operator with high quality camps in southern Africa. They have lovely accommodation, service, food, and a wide range of activities available.
The transfer from Lilongwe to Nyika is a flight in a light aircraft, and thereafter the transfers on this itinerary will be done by road – allowing you to get a feel for the ‘real’ Malawi, passing though towns, villages and farmland. You always have the option to stop if you fancy a refreshing cool drink in a local café, or perhaps have seen a market you’d like to have a potter around.
