This sketch map shows Lake Manyara National Park, in Tanzania, with its boundary dotted.
It is a very linear national park, hemmed in by the large soda lake to the east, and by the steep escarpment of the Great Rift Valley to the west (the escarpment is shown as brown outcrops on this map).
As you will see, the only safari camp in the park, Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, is in the extreme south of the park, and the only entrance gate to the park is in the north.
If you click through to our satellite map of Lake Manyara area, and zoom in a little, then you can see the escarpment coming close to the lake, and you will also see the deep, dark green of the permanent evergreen forests which are one of the highlights of the park.
