Map of Kafue National Park’s northern side

This map shows the northern part of the Kafue National Park, in western Zambia. Note the river networks (coloured blue), flowing into the Kafue River, which flows south off the map. Also see the permanent Busanga Swamps in the north-west, and the seasonally-flooded Busanga Plains around them – which is this park’s best area for safaris.

Note the Lufupa River, which is seasonal, and drains the Busanga Plains into the main Kafue River. Also the Lunga River, in the north-east of the park, which is a lovely, permanent river – and provides Lunga River Lodge with a stunning location for its boat trips.

Click through to our Google map of Kafue for an interactive map of the whole park, including this northern area – with precise links to show the safari camps and lodges, all plotted precisely on the satellite photograph.
