This beach add-on spends 5 nights on the remote Vamizi Island in Mozambique's beautiful Quirimbas Archipelago, including flights between Dar and Vamizi; the stylish Vamizi Island Lodge here is the perfect way to finish a safari holiday with a bit of rest and relaxation on the white shores of this ultimate beach getaway.
Vamizi is a two-hour flight from Dar es Salaam and there are flights three times a week. Vamizi can also be reached by a 50-minute flight from Pemba (the coastal town in Mozambique). Flights operate between Pemba and Johannesburg daily, except for Monday and Thursday, so it's easily possible to arrange travel one way via Jo'burg and the other via Dar – ask us for the latest details.
Day 1
1 night at Vamizi (full board & activities) | Quirimbas Archipelago, Mozambique
The timings of the flight from Dar to Vamizi vary slightly throughout the year depending on the season. A typical departure is about 9:05am, arriving on Vamizi Island at 11:35am where you will be met and taken on the 35-minute transfer from the island's airstrip to the lodge. If you head for Vamizi after finishing a safari in Tanzania, then you'll usually need to stay overnight in Dar and catch one of these flights easily the next morning.Days 2-5
4 nights at Vamizi (full board & activities) | Quirimbas Archipelago, Mozambique
Staying at Vamizi for total of five nights, your large private villa is set back slightly in the greenery, enabling you to retain a good amount of privacy while you relax in the spacious, airy room. Right in front of your room, take a wander along the white sands where you can laze in the sun or snorkel directly from the beach. The fully-equipped dive centre on site (payable locally) allows you to experience some of the most awe-inspiring diving around – certainly within the Quirimbas Archipelago.Day 6

After enjoying a last buffet breakfast at the lodge you have the option to either fly via Pemba to Jo'burg, or return to Dar es Salaam.
