Situated on the banks of the Kavango River, about 7km east of Rundu, lies Kaisosi River Lodge. The lodge can be easily reached in a normal sedan vehicle and makes for a convenient stop over en-route to the Caprivi Strip.
Set within a lush, green gardens, Kaisosi River Lodge has four two-storey thatched chalets each containing four rooms. Of the 16 rooms eight are twin/double rooms and eight are family rooms. The family rooms are split level with the second sleeping area being in the eaves. All rooms are pretty spacious and well furnished, and have either air-conditioning or ceiling fans. The en-suite bathrooms are equipped with a hand basin, a flushing toilet and a shower. Outside each room is a terrace/ balcony overlooking the Okavango River.
The main thatched building consists of an open plan restaurant, bar and lounge, and to the front is a large wooden veranda offering views across the Okavango. There are two swimming pools at the lodge right next to the river.
Activities at Kaisosi River Lodge focus on various cruises - bird watching, sunset and champagne breakfast – plus fishing trips.
Kaisosi River Lodge also has a campsite with 16 sites. Each site has own facilities with shower, toilet, basin, electricity and BBQ.
Our View
Kaisosi River Lodge is a simple, but comfortable lodge on the Okavango River. It’s a decent place for a short stop over when you are heading to the Caprivi Strip. It’s good for families and a stay of one night is ample.Geographics
