A night under canvas
A totally different setting from Okonjima but very special in its own way. Set against the backdrop of the Erongo Mountains there are 10 luxury tented chalets linked by wooden walkways. The tents are thatched and have a small verandah, kettle and fridge. The shower room/WC are built into the rocks and open to the elements in part but privacy is maintained.
The dining room is reached up natural stone steps, passed the small swimming pool,and gives wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. We had a delicous dinner of potato and leek soup, salad, oryx and panatone and at breakfast next morning watched the local (love)birds swooping on breadcrumbs.
As this was our last night we were content to relax and didn't go on any excursions except for a sundowner walk to the top of a mountain in the company of a Belgian honeymoon couple.

Again a lovely, original place to stay with a good atmosphere.
The guided walk was a great success and we were only sorry that we didn't have time to experience more.
Amazing setting, accomodation,welcome, &food

The tented accommodation was very unusual, but every attention made to make our visit relaxing and memorable.
The restaurant, service, and food were well above expectations.

A lovely camp nestled into the rocks
What a shame we did not have time for a 2 night stay here. The camp is great and the managers and staff were very friendly.
We joined in both the sunset and sunrise walks and the guides were very good with fascinating and beautiful scenery.
We thought the food was the best we had in Namibia, although competing with The Tug!
Lovely place to end our holiday at
Superb setting and accommodation. In fact, probably as good as Mowani overall as it didn't quite have the air of exclusivity that Mowani did. One night here was not enough!

Restaurant had a really nice feel to it, and again good views from it. Also plenty of birdlife to be observed from here.
Did evening and morning guided walks up onto the mountains which again provided really good views and well worth the climbs (not really that strenuous anyway). The quides were also really friendly and informative.
Interesting and loads of character!
Food was excellant with a good wine list. unusual habitat and location. Afternoon game drive combined with visit to rock paintings and 'sun downer' was interesting.
Small waterhole with comfortable viewing platform to see birds and small mammals.
A good location within striking distance of Windhoek (2 1/2 hrs drive) for those that want to get on the road straight away en route to the north.
