"Strongly recommended"

2 nights Arrived 20 May 2016
"An amazing location, with all rooms tucked in around the rocky environment.

We had the Mountain Suite which is 3 rooms and totally isolated from the rest of the hotel. Highlights included the outdoor bath and shower, the views, the sun-downer on the top of the rocks, a very well-stocked (free) minibar and exemplary service.

The game drive to find the Desert Elephants was wonderful as we tracked them by spoor and footprints, eventually finding them in a dried river bed. Max, our guide, was brilliant, carefully manoeuvring the vehicle so we got the best positions to watch the elephants.

The perfect start to any safari holiday!" See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Beautiful lodge in fabulous location.

We drove along the Salt Road to Torra Bay to get here - it is absolutely fine to drive. Saw some shipwrecks along the way!

Lovely pool, delicious food.

Went to see the rock engravings at Twelfelfontein - fascinating and well worth a visit." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Showering under the stars"

2 nights Arrived 15 Apr 2016
"I almost dropped to my knees to thank the universe (and Sabina) for booking me into a chalet with aircon. Ah, it was so wicked hot I would not have lasted a day in a regular chalet. The mini-suite was a difficult and the key point in the whole booking process b/c by myself I truly did not need a mini-suite but the aircon was all worth it.

Wonderful chalet with the outdoor toilet - I loved it. The only issue I had was the heat stuck in the little ante room as we enter the main door. Since the aircon was busy cooling the large room with the bed there was not much left for the TV room.

Most spectacular natural surroundings, the view from the lookout, the rock pool, everything was perfect excep the big Indian group that was noisy. Luckily the left the next morning. Ah, I also have to mention I appreciated the pick up in a truck with aircon. I think additional activity possibilities, like the Damara Living Museum, the petrified forest, etc could be better promoted by staff." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia

"Most amazing place we stayed at in Namibia!"

2 nights Arrived 22 Feb 2016
"Mowani was the most amazing lodge we stayed at in Namibia (also one of the more expensive ones). We stayed in the honeymoon suite as all the rest was fully booked (and we were on our honeymoon, so thought we'd spoil ourselves). The view is just incredible, it's like being on a different planet with boulders dotted around and monkeys playing with each other in the background.

The suite had it's own terrace as well as an indoor and outdoor shower as well as an outdoor bathtub (yes, insane!). Most insane view I've ever experienced during a shower! :)

The staff were lovely, memorizing our names before we even arrived, always ready to help.

The view from the sundowner lounge overlooking the sunset was incredible, and really set the scene for the evening.

The food was amazing, a proper creative kitchen - and the service was one of the best we experienced in Namibia (where it's sometimes a little slower and less detail-oriented as one might be used to). There is no wifi in the whole lodge, which is so nice for once! You can really tune out of the business of this world and just relax!

We forgot a scarf in the room and called them up from the next place we stayed at. They went out of their way to get it back to us in the hotel we stayed at the end in Windhoek - that is just amazing." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia

"Wonderful location and a great concept"

1 night Arrived 27 Nov 2015
"When we arrived at Mowani we felt like just relaxing, which is exactly what we did - reading books by the swimming pool, then on our private veranda with a gift of a sparkling rosé wine from the staff to recognise it was our honeymoon.

The sundowner - the location - is brilliant and the dinner that followed very good, with excellent service from Gerard. After dinner we had some drinks around the fire, and the manager spent a good amount of time speaking with us, which was a really nice touch." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Mowani Mountain Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 24 May 2015
"This is a lovely place, with tent-chalets built into the rocky hillside.

We really enjoyed the small water hole beside the main building which attracted birds and small animals. Also the sun-downer hill with a great view of the sunset over the nearby plain.

Our morning drive to find desert elephants was successful and we had ample opportunity to watch the herd. There was one elephant 'toddler' who was particularly fun to watch as he tried to race ahead." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana; 3n in Zimbabwe

"Loveliness in the middle of nowhere!"

2 nights Arrived 10 Nov 2014
"The only downside was a very long drive on gravel roads, but the sense of wilderness made it worthwhile. Beautiful accommodation in a dramatic setting.

Food excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Fantastic trip out to see the desert elephants with an informative guide.

If you have time, the official petrified forest is worth a visit." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana; 3n in Zimbabwe

"Mowani Mountain Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 8 Nov 2014
"Our favourite lodge - lovely location, helpful staff, great tent, beautiful setting and a laid back welcoming vibe. We had a puncture problem and staff sourced a tyre garage that could replace on our way to next stop.

Great birthday celebrations for my husband with cake, prosecco and staff singing to him!" See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia
