Relaxed camp just outside of Etosha

Nice and relaxed tented camp just outside of Etosha. Beautiful main area. Tents are comfortable and clean, children stay in the same tent in additional sleeper couches.

Only minus was that our tent was pretty noisy because of the wind that got under part of the roof.

Friendly and helpful atmosphere. Food was excellent, the singing and dancing of the staff (they do it every other night) was marvellous!

Luxury after Okaukuejo

Only a stopover for us. Luxurious but personally we don't like the communal dining table.

Mushara Bush Camp review

Looks impressive when you arrive in the reception/dining area but it was all rather pretentious. The 'tents' were located a very long walk from the dining area and seemed very artificial- nothing like real camping. The service was impersonal, although people the were friendly enough.

It did not have the feel of some of the other tented lodges in Namibia where you were made personally at home by the owner or manager. It felt more like a hotel than a bush camp.

Mushara Bush Camp review

Still getting over set up issues, but a good lodge with a real sense of service that just made the Halali experience even more frustrating.

Mushara Bush Camp review

Very friendly welcome. Superb food, really 5* for content and presentation. Waitresses were elegant and charming and loved to laugh. Outside fire-pit with circle of chairs, great for sundowners.

The chalets are quite a walk down flat gravel paths, so let the trolley porter take your heavy bags & be ready with a tip!

Well appointed tented chalets, spotlessly clean as ever.

Relaxed and friendly

We were greeted by Linda with a cold drink and a friendly smile, which set the tone for our stay. The stone, wood and canvas "tents" at Mushara are scattered in the bush, connected by gravel pathways (luggage is taken by trolley so hasn't got to be lugged by you) to the main lodge with its restaurant, bar, comfy chairs, wood fire, curio shop and internet access (for a modest charge).

The tents are comfortable and well appointed with a verandah on which to relax and watch the passing warthogs and impala.

A beating drum indicates that the 3-course set dinner is ready to be served - in our case spinach and feta cheese in filo pastry follwed by eland steak and crepe suzette with ice cream. Quite delicious. During dinner the camp staff had rolled down the canvas sides of the tent and put welcome hot water bottles in the bed.

We only stayed one night after we left Etosha, but were impressed by the relaxed and friendly atmosphere at the camp.
