Wolwedans Dune Camp review
This was our favourite place in Namibia!!!! We were sad to leave and would have loved to be staying another night.
Our Guide Herman was brilliant - such a gentleman and his love and enthusiasm for the place was contagious!! The food was first class and all of the staff were more than helpful!!
The view from our room was gorgeous and the tented accommodation was very comfortable!! We would go back here in a heartbeat!!!
The 20 km drive to the main camp is quite overwhelming for new arrivals to namibia and although we had discovered this in Chris's book it may be useful to inform travellers of this in the literature provided.
Wolwedans Dune Camp review
We found the road to Wolwedans difficult in our saloon car but, as soon as we arrived, it was all forgotten. We had a warm welcome, lunch was ready when we arrived at the camp.
The accommodation is luxurious (considering the location), the staff is attentive without being overpowering. We thoroughly enjoyed the sun-downer and the day drive with our guide Vinte. We learnt so much but at the same time the day was relaxing in such beautiful scenery.
We had lunch at Boulders Camp as there was no guest there on that day; the manager sat with us over a cup of coffee and gave us an insight into his life and some of the Namibian customs. Just like the staff at our camp he was professional and charming.
We appreciated having the flask of hot water to have tea in bed watching the sun rise and there was chocolate in the evenings... Most members of staff told us that they have a really good boss; he certainly has managed to create something very special. We loved it there!
Wolwedans Dune Camp review
Wolvedans is a magical place. The camp is excellent, attractive and comfortable, but without any pretension or attempt at excessive luxury. Probably the best run of the lodges and camps we stayed at, very good food, service and guiding.

Highly recommended with faultless service from arrival to departure. The team were thoroughly professional and could not have been more helpful.
We really enjoyed the evening chat around the camp fire and the menu recital and singing before dinner. The quality of the food is amazing. The drives were excellent with a sundowner on top of the dunes, and the next day picnic lunch at the aptly named Hard Rock cafe.
Our guide David was extremely knowledgable and the management team were fantastic.
A really relaxing experience in a superb setting.
Wolwedans Dune Camp review
I have stayed in both this and the Dune Lodge. The lodge marginally wins on location, but other than that save your money and stay here. The service is better, the activities the same, the rooms have everything you need and it just has a more authentic feel about it.
Brilliant place.

Wolwedans
Wolwedans ~ a wonderful experience within the dunes. Ideally situated with fantastic views across the valley to the mountains from your bed.
The staff made you feel very 'at home'. We really enjoyed the introduction to the meals!
The camp was small but had a good atmosphere. This is what we enjoyed about it.
