Outstanding welcome and amazing place to stay
Marianne and Rob made us feel very welcome, amazing food, surroundings and setting
Great for walking and exploring
Exceptional hospitality at Zebra River
Rob and Marianne could not have been more welcoming. We were treated like friends in their home. The specially-made vegetarian food was absolutely delicious. Our room was lovely.
We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the dogs and all the staff were extremely friendly. For us the walking was fantastic - breathtaking scenery and easily-followed paths.
(If we hadn't had the massive good fortune to be upgraded to a 4x4 at the airport we would have found the approach very dodgy!)
Expert Africa comments
Rob and Marianne from Zebra River have told us that they have been working on the entry road - and that more work is scheduled shortly. It's continuous process of repairing the damage done by wear and tear, and every rainy season. Hopefully that will improve it further.
That said, although the road isn't up to UK standards - they comment that it really isn't a problem in a normal saloon car if the drive is taken slowly and carefully.
A wonderful spot with terrific walking
Rob and Marianne have a truly hospitable place here. Their staff are lovely and friendly and the communal meals great fun. Many of the guests seem to be returning customers/friends! We had time for a short walk on arrival and then a day walk on the Canyon Way which was well marked and map provided. The views were spectacular and silence deafening!
Rob is so paasionate about the country and equipped us with map and route information for our onward journey as well as packed lunch.

The walk up to the spring was really great with good scenery and some wildlife. Really good sense of isolation along the way. Would really recommend it. I would guess that all the other trails they have would be equally as good.
The only downside again would be that the room, although adequate, could do with some updating
