Namibia: reviews from our travellers
Unedited reviews written by our most recent Namibia travellers
"My Nov 2015 trip"
The highlights were Erongo Wilderness Lodge, the drive across Etosha National Park, the drive down the Skeleton Coast, Swakopmund, the trip to Sandwich Harbour and last, but very definitely not least, Sossusvlei Desert Lodge.
Namibia proved a wonderful country to visit, with a very welcoming people, all of whom seemed to have a great sense of humour.

No, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Namibia as a destination and Expert Africa as the company to organise a visit." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 12 on a Namibia trip
"My Nov 2015 trip"
All the guides were good, but Francois at Hoanib and Suama at Kulala were outstanding - perhaps the best guides we ever have had. Francois in particular was keen to go the extra mile to make our trip special." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 13 on a Namibia trip
"Southern african tour"
Overall our highlights were exploring the sand dunes at Sossusvlei, our day trip out of Swakopmund to Sandwich Harbour, the wildlife at Etosha NP, the village life and waterways of the Caprivi Strip and the up close and personal experience of Camp Hwange.

We were incredibly impressed with the service we got from Maruska, she put together our trip at very short notice, was always quick to respond to emails, and seemed incredibly knowledgeable when we spoke to her on the phone. We would happily recommend her and Expert Africa to anyone wanting to book a trip to Africa." Read full review: 22 nights in Africa; 9 on a Namibia trip
"My Oct 2015 trip"
I'm not sure if the other lodges had rooms other than two single beds pushed together, but for a married couple if that was something you could have requested it would have been appreciated.

I know people are looking for a deal on the rental car but you should probably be more persuasive about a 4X4." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 8 on a Namibia trip
"Thoroughly enjoyable"
"My Oct 2015 trip"
Basically we loved the trip but but the generator problem and the window problem detracted a little." Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 14 on a Namibia trip

"Our Oct 2015 was our best yet to africa"
the main disappointments were that there was less game than expected, especially at Linyanti, and less water than expected in Okavango.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
with hindsight we may have chosen to make our (probably) only visit to Okavango earlier in the year when water-levels are higher. overall, whilst very good, the difference from other safaris weve been on wasn't as great as expected" Read full review: 10 nights in Africa; 6 on a Botswana safari
"2015 trip to Namibia"
I was particularly impressed with the Wilderness places where we stayed - I am currently writing an ILO training resource on global supply chain and employment and my sense was that Wilderness do well with increasing skills and capacity in Namibia. A big tick from us on that!
By rights the bad experience with the car hire should mean that the overall trip is rated as satisfactory but I feel that this reflects unfairly on the otherwise excellent trip and the effort Martha put in to planning the modalities of a trip I described to her. We think you have provided an excellent service but want you to take serious note of how unhappy and dissatisfied we are with the service from Budget - Namibia in Windhoek. We hope you will help us should my credit card be charged by Budget. We note that Which? rated Budget as the second lowest performing car hire company." "Mega holiday.......again!"
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
OK since Peter is writing the review he would comment about the quotation! Not the cheapest of holidays however worth every penny and Expert Africa ensured that our money bought what Pamela wanted.
Peter was surprised and more than pleased that so much of this holiday was just a few guests.........or even just the two of us.
I think Expert Africa spoilt us and the next time we go on Safari will expect a vehicle and guide to ourselves. The one day we had to go on safari on a full vehicle neither of us enjoyed the experience half as much as our other drives. Getting old perhaps but we like to stop and watch ants or ducks parading.
Perhaps a highlight was walking in Mundulea and coming across a baby hog that was dying due to a Leopard bite. Cai's comment that he could smell a Leopard and that perhaps we should move on reminds me I must go.
Thanks for an excellent holiday, see you at the Travel Show perhaps." Read full review: 19 nights in Africa; 13 on a Namibia trip
