Dune chalet

The four dune chalets at Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch are constructed of wood and are raised up on stilts and atop a red dune, affording a great view over the inter-dune plain and a floodlit waterhole in the middle-distance.
Inside, the furniture is also mostly wooden – very much like a ski chalet in feel – and there's plenty of storage space and a small writing desk.

Each dune chalet has a mini-bar, tea/coffee-making facilities, a room safe to lock up any valuables, a ceiling fan and air-conditioning.

In the Kalahari's winter, night-time temperatures are known to drop as low as -10 degrees Celcius, and so the air conditioners also function as heaters, and the Bagatelle team will provide hot water bottles and extra blankets in winter!

These rooms can be made up as twins or double rooms, depending on preference – and the beds have mosquito nets.

Each dune chalet at Bagatelle has an en-suite bathroom with hot/cold water, in which is a flush toilet, a wash basin, and a bath with a shower attachment above it. Linen and toiletries are provided, including soap, body lotion, towels and insect repellent. Although there are no hair dryers, they do have one to loan out to guests: request this from the team if you want to use it.
