Relaxed tourist ranch with fair safari drive.
Clearly just a ranch. Pleasant and interesting amenities inc. a resident free-roaming oryx. Suitable for families with young children.
Game drive was well done but animals were limited and if we had gone the other way round and had seen Etosha etc. first would have been disappointing. As an example of a ranch, a good opener to our tour.
Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch review
It was great to be able to see Meerkats and cheetahs and other game kept or who have become habituated to humans.
Food very very average, Location outstanding and can recommend the straw bale chalets - fantastic,
Did not have high chairs for our one year old, though were able to provide an earlier supper.
South African guide very knowledgable, if rather naive and opinionated as to what goes on in realitiy in Namibia re Cheetah Conservation - but perhaps I am being rather jaundiced, as sat next to a friend on the plane returning to England who had been staying on a farm where in the past 24 hours they had tracked and shot a lion, and trapped and shot a cheetah.

We enjoyed our visit. The dune chalet was very attractive, with lovely views. Very informative guide.

One night stay at Bagatelle G R was too short to feel the Kalahari. We believe that on a trip like this a minimum of two nights should at least, be considered (unless the place is used for a "stylish" overnight stay).
By staying two nights we surely could have taken more from the activities offered. It was a pitty not be able to see the Meerkats! Nevertheless the morning game drive was very rich and highy enjoyable. Pedro our homonymous guide was helpfull and tried to get us the elusive meerkats but unsuccessfully.
Overall : Bagatelle is highly recommended and is to be enjoyed for at least two nights.
Expert Africa comments
We too agree that two nights here gives you more time to relax and do activities. We had tried to book these travellers into Bagatelle for two nights, however unfortunately, it was fully booked for the second night.
A great place to start our holiday
A warm welcome on arrival. We stayed in one of the straw bale chalets, which was very spacious and comfortable.
Wish we had arrived in time for the afternoon nature drive.
Cheetahs and Springbok
A good place to start the holiday. Our room was comfortable and had good views. An enjoyable place to seeing even if a little lacking in "atmosphere".
Feeding the Cheetahs and walking with them is a must and an incredible experience but watch out for the pet Springbok!

Excellent in every way.
A great place to stay on the first night, especially if you can get one of the dune bungalows.
Very friendly staff and great relaxed atmosphere. Accomodation of a very high standard.
Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch review
Very nice, luxurious and wellmaintained bungalows, decorated in African style.
Beautiful area where we, among other animals, saw very special birds, like two giant eagle owls, a pygmy falcon and a Kori bustard! Special thanks to our guide Paul who is very enthousiastic (!!) and helpful. The manager, Cilas, and the restaurant staff are very friendly too.
Good food and a beautifully decorated buffet. This lodge really has style and offers service on a high level!
