Central Guest House review

Very pleasant stay here. Staff was very helpful trying to make arrangements for us and confirming reservations.

Easy to walk to town from here.

Kayaking excursion to Pelican Point - I suppose it depends on your past experiences.

We found this trip, hmm, slow and a little boring - but we've done lots of kayaking before. Other people in the group had a great time. It wasn't that there was anything wrong with the trip - the outfitter had good boats, life jackets, great relations with the clients - so no problem there, we thought there was a little more to it than just paddling back and forth along the shore.

excellent serivce and location

Extremely knowledgable manager, very helpful, nothing ever too much trouble.

Dolphin cruise - Lovely trip, great skipper, good views of wildlife and information sharing.
Wonderful lunch !!

Sea kayaking - Great experience, though very short due to strong winds...again just luck of the draw.

Advanced information on what to wear/bring, not to wear etc would have been helpful.

Very knowledgeable guide.

NOTE: the meeting place for the kayak trip is at the Dolphin coffee shop not the Mola Mola as given in our instructions

Central Guest House review

We expected this rather uninviting looking house to be very average but to our surprise it was in an excellent location for getting around Swakopmund on foot and exceptionally clean and well appointed with very friendly and helpful staff. From here we had a Dolphin and Seal Tour booked with Levo's Tours, Walvis Bay which was outstanding. Francoise, the owner, is the man to go with. He is very knowledgeable and makes the tour so interesting and we would thoroughly recommend this tour.

We saw dolphins, seals, pelicans, many seabirds and flocks of flamingoes. Drinks of 'Namibian Coffee' (sherry) were served, together with a Champagne and Oyster Lunch. The cost was £45 but well worth it. Evening meals at the Brauhaus and the Tug Restaurants in Swakopmund are also to be recommended and a trip to the Kristall Gallery is very interesting.

Central Guest House review

No complaints.
But very uninspiring - very much a place to put your head down rather than a place to enjoy staying at

Felt that owner was sometines rather disrespectful to staff - they may have been inexperienced, but they were clearly trying really hard, and not sure owner was being too kind to them. Made me feel quite uncomfortable.

Ideal location in Swapokmund

We had driven down the skelton coast from Damaraland, and were warmly received by the staff at Central Guest House, which is in a convenient location as the name suggests.

We were assisted with our flight and restaurant bookings and nothing was too much trouble. The room and the breakfast were excellent, and the atmosphere friendly and relaxed.

Central Guest House review

Really great, the children loved the luxury of a TV for 3 days and as we were 8 people we had the top floor to our selves. It didnt matter at all that we were inland slightly.

The owners we really helpful about booking resturants and sorting out how to get the air con fixed on our car which was beginning to get a big probem as it was hotter than expected during the day. Breakfast superb.

The only thing that troubled me was the need for the night guard, the cars seemed secure enough behind a locked drive way and I couldnt help feeling uneasy that first he was deemed necessary and then that he was standing out in the cold ALL night evey night.

Quad biking was expensive but worth it and very close by, it was easy to book the day before, but we would advise booking at least the first night's resturant before arrival.

Central Guest House review

This is a gem in the middle of Swakopmund. It's a gorgeous bed and breakfast. The rooms are lovely and the breakfasts excellent. It's very well located so you can easily walk into town and the owners are very friendly and helpful.

The only downside for us was that we found it rather noisy at night. It was surprisingly hot while we were there so we slept with the windows open and could hear a lot of traffic and train noise. I suspect if we had been there at the beginning of our holiday we wouldn't have noticed it so much. It was probably because we had had two weeks of blissful silence in the desert.

We would highly recommend the kayaking trip with Jeanne - fabulous.
