Central Guest House review

Again lovely rooms here. We had a double room in the main guest house, our three boys had two twin rooms, a lovely bathroom and fridge and heater etc.

The whole place was very welcoming. We were invited to have a sherry in the lounge, in fromt of the real fire. We had booked activities to do in Swakopmund (quad biking, kayaking and living desert tour). The lady on reception phoned to confirm one of the bookings for us, then printed off the map that we needed.

Breakfast was great again and done early to fit in with our early start for the kayaking.

Central Guest House review

Room 1 was very hot (faces the sun all day!). Also, night porter/guard outside during night on security duty. Good to feel safe but could hear mobile phone calls!

Very helpful owner and staff pulled out all the stops when the area experienced a power cut!

Central Guest House review

Good location and very helpful reception staff who booked restaurants for us. Free internet access was appreciated. The breakfast buffet was varied and eggs were cooked to order. After consulting the reception staff we walked to the restaurants, taking minimal valuables, and felt safe doing so, despite reports of muggings on tourists. We would recommend the seafood at both The Tug and especially The Jetty. We enjoyed exceptional weather while at Swakopmund and would have appreciated more time there as there is plenty to see and do both there and at Walvis Bay.

Young lady on reception could not have been more helpfull, making dinner reservations, sorting out an issue with the hire car, and general advice. A real credit to the guesthouse.

Central Guest House review

Very pleasant stay here. Staff was very helpful trying to make arrangements for us and confirming reservations.

Easy to walk to town from here.

Kayaking excursion to Pelican Point - I suppose it depends on your past experiences.

We found this trip, hmm, slow and a little boring - but we've done lots of kayaking before. Other people in the group had a great time. It wasn't that there was anything wrong with the trip - the outfitter had good boats, life jackets, great relations with the clients - so no problem there, we thought there was a little more to it than just paddling back and forth along the shore.

excellent serivce and location

Extremely knowledgable manager, very helpful, nothing ever too much trouble.

Dolphin cruise - Lovely trip, great skipper, good views of wildlife and information sharing.
Wonderful lunch !!

Sea kayaking - Great experience, though very short due to strong winds...again just luck of the draw.

Advanced information on what to wear/bring, not to wear etc would have been helpful.

Very knowledgeable guide.

NOTE: the meeting place for the kayak trip is at the Dolphin coffee shop not the Mola Mola as given in our instructions

Central Guest House review

We expected this rather uninviting looking house to be very average but to our surprise it was in an excellent location for getting around Swakopmund on foot and exceptionally clean and well appointed with very friendly and helpful staff. From here we had a Dolphin and Seal Tour booked with Levo's Tours, Walvis Bay which was outstanding. Francoise, the owner, is the man to go with. He is very knowledgeable and makes the tour so interesting and we would thoroughly recommend this tour.

We saw dolphins, seals, pelicans, many seabirds and flocks of flamingoes. Drinks of 'Namibian Coffee' (sherry) were served, together with a Champagne and Oyster Lunch. The cost was £45 but well worth it. Evening meals at the Brauhaus and the Tug Restaurants in Swakopmund are also to be recommended and a trip to the Kristall Gallery is very interesting.
