Intermezzo Guesthouse: Our full report

Intermezzo Guesthouse is a small bed and breakfast located in a quiet residential area of Swakopmund, about 25 minutes walk from the town centre, or a short drive.

The 9 rooms are made up of seven twin or double rooms and two family rooms. The rooms are clean, bright and fairly spacious and offer hairdryers, telephones and tea and coffee making facilities. Some rooms have a small balcony with a table and chairs for sitting outside. The larger family rooms have a small seating area. The rooms all have large en-suite bathrooms, some with a bath and a shower, some with only a shower.

Satellite TV is provided in the warm yellow lounge, which has comfy sofas looking out over the garden. The breakfast is served in a light indoor-dining room (that also has a balcony) and consists of a buffet with hot food available on request. Guests receive personalized good morning notes written in their own language. Plants are dotted around the communal areas, as well as shells, and African carvings. Other little touches such as flowers tied to the toilet paper make Intermezzo Guesthouse feel homely and welcoming.

Intermezzo is a friendly and welcoming guesthouse in a quiet area of Swakopmund. The yellow theme running through the building makes it feel bright and sunny, a comfortable place to base yourself while you explore Swakopmund.
