This 13 day fly-in itinerary takes you through Namibia's key highlights at a relaxed pace. Discover the enormous sand dunes of the Namib Desert, the quaint coastal town of Swakopmund, abundant rock art amidst the rugged mountains of Damaraland and spectacular game viewing in Etosha National Park.
Day 1
Depart from London Heathrow on your scheduled overnight flight with South African Airways to Windhoek, via Johannesburg.Days 2-3
2 nights at Kulala Desert Lodge (full board & activities) | Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia
Clear customs at Windhoek Airport and meet your light aircraft pilot before setting off on an hour flight over the great escarpment to the Namib Desert. You'll explore this remarkable area on guided 4WD excursions and walks; discovering the majestic apricot coloured dunes at Sossusvlei, the fascinating geology of Sesriem Canyon and the expansive desert plains of the Kulala Reserve. There's time in between activities to relax, enjoy the views and take a refreshing dip in the pool at Kulala Desert Lodge.Days 4-6
3 nights at Hansa Hotel (bed & breakfast) | Swakopmund & Walvis Bay, Namibia
Hop onto another light aircraft for a memorable flight over the desert and up the Atlantic Coast to reach Swakopmund. A road transfer takes you to your convenient base in the centre of this pleasant seaside town. There's plenty of free time during your three night stay to mooch around the shops, historic architecture, museums, galleries, restaurants, cafes, craft market and waterfront. We've included a fantastic guided trip to Sandwich Harbour on one of the days, plus there are many optional activities to choose from such as boat cruises, kayaking, fishing, sky-diving and quad-biking. You won't have a shortage of things to do whilst staying at the colonial style Hansa Hotel.Days 7-8
2 nights at Mowani Mountain Camp (full board & activities) | Damaraland, Namibia
Look out over incredible views as you fly along the eerie Skeleton Coast before heading inland to the stunning region of Damaraland. A variety of attractions wait to be discovered here – rock engravings at Twyfelfontein; the Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain; scenic walking trails; and wildlife including desert-adapted elephants that roam the area during the dry season. You'll venture out on 4WD excursions and enjoy self-guided walks from your tented accommodation at the uniquely designed Mowani Mountain Camp.Days 9-11
3 nights at Ongava Tented Camp (full board & activities) | Etosha National Park, Namibia
Continue inland on your next flight to the southern edge of Etosha National Park where you stay three nights within the private Ongava Reserve. Your focus here is game viewing, on guided 4WD excursions into Etosha and on the local reserve. Your guide will seek out wildlife along a network of sandy tracks and at waterholes where animals come to drink. Conclude each exciting day with sundowners and an evening beside the floodlit waterhole at Ongava Tented Camp.Day 12
A light aircraft flight takes you south back to Windhoek Airport, arriving in time to check-in for your scheduled overnight flight back to the UK with South African Airways via Johannesburg.Day 13
