Peace and tranquility in Windhoek
Unfortunately as we arrived on a Sunday Windhoek was pretty much closed. It was a great stop over place for the night but wouldn't expect to stay there for longer.

Ideal first night stop at Elegant Guesthouse
This was a perfect first night stop after arriving in Windhoek. It was very easy to find and secure parking was available. It is in a quiet area in Klein Windhoek and felt peaceful and perfectly safe and secure. The staff were welcoming and friendly and on arrival, were able to recommend and reserve Joe's Beerhouse for dinner as well as providing details of a taxi for the journey back, approx N$50. The Beerhouse is in walking distance in daylight but lack of pavements makes this unsafe for walking back in the dark. This is a good and atmospheric place to eat and to start your Namibian adventure.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable with air conditioning and a small individual patio. As the rooms are quite close together and are glass fronted, we were aware of people leaving early in the morning but this is the only slight criticism. Breakfast was good and an honesty bar operates in the evening if you want to sit and relax with a drink on the communal terrace or in your room.

Stayed here 3 times. Breakfasts were excellent, rooms good, showers excellent, staff friendly & helpful.
Arranged taxi & restaurant bookings for us v quickly & efficiently
Elegant Guest House
We did not care for this location. Even though the room was adequate, the many windows throughout the room made us feel as if we were on display from the front hallway to the pool area in the back. The staff was pleasant, but the guest house was not a positive way to end our experience in Namibia.

Our short stay there very enjoyable.
Easy to get to from the airport. Our first contact with a receptionist was not as warm as we would have liked since we appeared to have been booked in twice and thus they were expecting four guests, not two!

About 30mins from the airport and close to a supermarket for stocking up with travel provisions.

Very nice property to relax in after a long flight.
Warm welcome, nice garden and taxi service available to local restaurants for evening meal
