Elegant Guesthouse review
First arrived we were exhausted, so all we wanted was a place to lie down and we left early the next morning. We had planned to walk into town for dinner but were told that the neighborhood is not safe.
Breakfast was OK. When we returned before going on to Botswana it was not a real pleasant experience. The room was very cold. The only heater/AC is mounted high on the wall where it blows straight down on the bed. In the evening there was the night watchmen, who I found to be rude. We left early the following morning.
There was no attempt to prepare some sort of cold breakfast or "box" for us or other guests who were leaving before they started cooking breakfast.

Expert Africa forwarded these comments to Jorn Dedig, the director of the Elegant Guesthouse. He was sad to hear that they did not enjoy their stay with them, though assures us that the staff always try to do their utmost to keep all the guests happy. Expert Africa are sorry that on this occasion the travellers did not enjoy their stay, but hope that Jorn's kind offer of compensation will go some way to making amends.

It was a good place to stay to be near the airport.
The lightbulb in our bathroom was out and the woman at the desk told us she could not get anyone to come change it until the next morning. She seemed surprised that we would want it fixed that night.

A nice enough guesthouse, conveniently located near to Joe's Beerhouse.
If we were to have our time again, however, we would bypass Windhoek altogether and head straight out to stay in a lodge in the surrounding countryside
Welcome oasis after a long journey
A very friendly and efficient welcome and was surprised to find a bottle of champagne in the room after Matilda found out it was my birthday.
A lovely first night of the holiday.
Stay at the Elegant Guesthouse
Again the Guesthouse staff were very welcoming and we enjoyed our (brief) stay. The design is modern and a nice change from the more traditionla places we had stayed at during our stay. It is very convenient for the centre and especially Joe's Beerhouse!

Great place for first night
Very helpful, welcoming receptionist when we arrived, very tired after a long journey. Suggested and arranged a meal to be delivered (by "the Gourmet") as we weren't up to a big night out. Very good too.
Wrecked safe in room a little troubling but all appeared very secure now. Pleasant surroundings and very clean.
Elegant, comfortable guesthouse
Just what we needed after 24 hours of travelling. Very easy to find and a nice comfortable room. We were too tired to go out to eat so we were given a menu to choose from and the food was delivered at a pre arranged time direct to our table outside in the garden. Very civilised!
My only adverse comment is that no one helped with the luggage and there are quite a few steps, both up and down, to contend with.
